Kassena side table by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance
The Gourounsie architecture of the Kassena villages, an ethnic group from southern Burkina Faso, is a vernacular earthen architecture.
The simple oblong shapes of these houses and their slightly inclined and projecting walls from the roof allow to dry the cereals. This formal principle is the major source of inspiration for the realization of this tables.
Each piece is handmade from recycled metals in Burkina Faso and finished in France. Bronze is a living material and oxidizes with age and environment which makes its beauty.
Variations, Stains and Imperfections in the texture finishes are part of the artisanal process. Different finishes are available upon request.
