Multi-light suspension - 57 Serie by Omer Arbel
- Description
A multi-suspension designed with glass's hot sculpting process
The glass lighting piece is made using the technique of hot sculpting, whereby molten glass is gathered from a furnace at the end of a metal rod, manipulated into shape using pincers and a blow hose to form the nodular elements. It results from a fabrication process whereby air voids of different sizes and configurations are composed within a larger mass of dark grey or white opaline glass.
These air pockets are invisible when the piece is unlit, and come alive to reveal an interior universe when 57 is illuminated. By virtue of the method of making, each 57 is completely unique.
This suspensions serie is a sculptural piece emphasizing on organic forms. Therefore, additional illumination in the chosen space may be required. The light structure is suspended using coaxial cable and composed in hexagonal clusters available in 4 configurations on our e-shop. Three to seven pendant fixtures, including an adaptable cable length and round canopy.
