Lazo Table : human traditions

The Lazo Table represents time-honored human traditions.

The table’s finish results from a bold and visionary desire to bring out simple shapes and natural textures. Wood charring highlights the unique character of woodgrain. The shape of the table’s base, like many authentically handcrafted pieces, partially determined the process itself. The nature of the terracotta dictated how many times the coils could wrap the base and in what shape. The hands followed along. Using a thousands-years old modeling method, the clay was modeled and coiled into rings sprinkled with copper dust and baked.

For Peca, an independent design studio based in Guadalajara, Mexico, attention to detail is paramount. Since 2007, Caterina Moretti, the Head Designer and Studio Director, has imbued the brand with her remarkable ability to work with natural materials, explore textures and forms, and introduce elements of nature into indoor spaces in surprising and innovative ways. Collaborations with local artisans and invited designers have played a pivotal role in shaping the essence of Peca, resulting in a catalog that seamlessly blends tradition with innovation.
